@xismxist F1 drivers don’t put their lives at risk anymore, come on we all know that now the last time they risked their lives was in the early 1990’s there have been terrible crashes since and the drivers have walked off unscathed its not dangerous anymore.
Show some respect. F1 drivers put their lives on the line every single time. The average person can withstand 4G in a few seconds, F1 drivers has to withstand 4-5G in nearly 2 hours. Accelerating, braking, and corners… over and over again, no time for rest
@SimoMcGauneo ok change vettel for david beckham, or kobe bryant they generate loads of money so they expect loads of money. but then a doctor wont sell loads of shirts with his name onit will he?? or pencil or cups whatever. even tho a doctor wood save your life, or me im a builder i build houses but dnt get no where near the value its worth to build it. the public bump up a sportsmans wages by buying everything he endorses then bitch they get so much money
@leemassey1 Of course not, but all I was saying was that ALL sportsmen and women are overpaid, I don’t think anyone can argue with that. Have a good day.
@SimoMcGauneo look at it this way they get paid so much because of the money they generate and if vettel sells 1000 shirts a week with vettel written on the front, thats his name he wants the money and to b honest why wouldnt he. would you let the proceeds of your name go in some1 elses pocket. (the 1000 shirts a week sales figures were an example, before some low life corrects me saying he onlys sells this many really) was putting it simply
@SimoMcGauneo Sportsmen, including F1 drivers do not get paid the amount of money that they do because they are doing what they do, they get paid that much because of what they can do for the team. The more you can give the team, the more you get paid.
And then Schumacher used to jump out of the car at the end of the race and he very rarely looked exhausted or sweaty. The same as vettel now. That’s how fit they have to be. All the junior Formulas help to prepare you for this, but the final jump to F1 is the biggest and at the first drive,
nothing can totally prepare you for it.

Ha it makes me laugh when sports people say that
“makes you realise why they get paid so much”
Don’t get me wrong, I love F1 and most other sports, but there is absolutely NO justification WHATSOEVER for sportsmen to earn as much as they do.
By drplbiftin, October 28, 2010 @ 10:48 pm
Best F1 driver to have never won a race.
By thrillathakilla, October 28, 2010 @ 11:22 pm
@andrewgriffiths78 He’ll prob be asked to do a demo on crashing, that’s all he was ever good at.

That was slightly cheesy but actually a really amazing segment. I’ve never seen a better description of the strains and difficulties of F1 driving.
