Williams Team Bet On Button

Williams’s team has been hinting at Jenson Button joining up their team, but they are not willing to wait too long for that to happen.

Preliminary discussions have been held with the racer who is heralded as the former world champion. A deal has been negotiated for 2017 however, talks have not moved to the final stages as yet.

The Williams team is based out of Grove and they would like Button to come and lead the racing team. The fact that they would like Button to come on board has been made clear, but there are other candidates as well who are lined up to join the team next year.

Williams has options in Valtteri Bottas and they are also interested in getting Sergio Perez of Mexican origin. Sergio is currently serving a contract with Force India. Felipe Nasr is also being targeted and he might want to make the switch from the Sauber team. Lance Stroll is a contender for the seat as well, which might surprise many. He has had a strong campaign and this season has turned out to be good for him, showcasing his skills to possible recruiters. Williams has been dependent on Button but that is not the case for long. If he takes a long time to reach a decision the firm would have to make their own decisions. It is crucial that a racer with the right mentality comes on board. For Button there are certain aspects to consider on which he would base his own decision. Button has experience and speed that are assets he can offer the Williams team. As a result they are looking to add him to the team. He is also attractive for the sponsors of the team and that is what Williams is looking at.
